Standing with Australia’s Jewish community is not symbolic—it tests whether the state can protect minorities and uphold democracy for everyone.

Citing statements by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Abyaneh wrote that “spiritual defense” during Jewish Hanukkah ceremonies is “necessary.”

The 50-year-old father, who was killed in the attack, had six firearms licensed to him, with NSW police commissioner Mal Lanyon confident that all weapons were accounted for by law enforcement.

Security agencies across India, but especially in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, have been advised to remain vigilant, with surveillance in place across areas where Jews and Israelis transit.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called the scenes "shocking and distressing" and urged those in the area to follow police instructions. 

This is not only a failure of government. It is a failure of law enforcement culture, of university leadership, of media judgment, and of national nerve.

"Our hearts are with the community, and we stand with them," Aliyah and Integration Minister Ofir Sofer said at the event honoring lone soldiers at the President's Residence in Jerusalem.

Prosecutor Christopher Hewertson claimed the defendants researched how to acquire an AR-15 automatic weapon, and wanted to acquire 3D printing equipment to print gun parts.

The audit found that no statutory requirement obligates major transportation projects to meet the police's technical and operational security standards during planning, initiation, or tender stages.

The five were part of a larger terror cell operating in the area that was apprehended by Israeli security forces.
