Observers from the Border Police patrol unit first noticed the group digging a tunnel near the fence and alerted officers in the field, who then went to the scene. 

Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that the military will present a plan for the transfer within the next two weeks, amid the ongoing violent clashes in Kusra.

The incident came following several attacks against Israelis in the West Bank over the weekend, according to United Hatzalah, citing the Binyamin Regional Council Spokesperson.

According to Army Radio, the arrests come at the request of the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), to which the IDF has responded that it is "unable" to arrest all of the wanted suspects.

Palestinians cannot repeatedly pass up opportunities, embrace or tolerate violence instead, and then insist that someone else is solely responsible for the consequences.

The Binyamin Regional Council noted that both forms of attacks are becoming more common despite rarely receiving public attention.

Palestinian residents who remain in the area told KAN News that they still feel threatened by Jewish extremists in the area.

Former Israel Navy commander Eliezer Marom said police, not IDF soldiers, should handle unrest in Kusra, calling the situation “shocking” and warning it harms Israel’s reputation.

The Press and Communications Council demanded responses from the IDF after a Channel 14 reporter entered the West Bank village of Kusra, while other reporters were denied access.
