Rebel group M23 takes control of Congo town, in blow to peace talks in Africa

The M23 rebel group consolidated control over the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo town of Uvira on Thursday, endangering peace efforts in the region.

Washington staged a Congo-Rwanda peace signing, but continuing M23 clashes and stalled commitments raised doubts about its impact.
