Seven Indonesian airports remain shut due to volcanic ash from Anak Krakatau

Around 341,000 people have been affected by the delay, diversion, or cancellation of 2,961 flights, Indonesia's chief infrastructure minister Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono said.

Ash was identified as high as 20,000 feet (6,000 meters) on the Java side of the volcano and a plume of up to 50,000 feet (15,000 meters) on the Sumatra side.
