Graham died Saturday, aged 71, following what his office described as a “brief and sudden illness.” His office did not immediately disclose an official cause of death.  

Without question, he was one of the greatest friends the Jewish people have ever had in the United States Senate. He also understood that the Islamic Republic is the enemy, not the Persian people.

Graham sought to reassure Israelis that support for their country remained deeply embedded in Congress. “Quite frankly, Congress has Israel’s back," he said.

"As much as it frustrates me, this process takes time... And on the advice of my doctors, I won’t be able to return to the Senate floor to vote quite yet," said US Senator Mitch McConnell.

Many Democrats had already questioned Platner's fitness for office before Politico reported on Monday that a woman accused him of forcing her to have sex with him nearly ⁠five years ago.

"The United States Military has never been stronger, or more powerful," Trump announced in a Truth Social post.

CNN reported that a woman accused him of entering her home without permission and raping her while he was intoxicated. He didn't indicate whether he was considering suspending or ending his campaign.

Following Mallory McMorrow's suspension of her US Senate campaign, two candidates with opposing visions of the Democratic Party's future, particularly on Israel policy, remain.

Bipartisan lawmakers pressed the administration officials on issues such as lifting sanctions on Iran and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
