During a brief break from a European tour, the 18-year-old TikTok star with the huge hit single “abcdefu,” joined the Israeli superstar onstage for two songs.

No information has been released in regards to what song Kirel will sing at the competition, but the singer will have full artistic control over the song choice.

According to the music industry giant, Israel has a "fast-growing music market." Israel recorded impressive recorded music revenue growth of 10.2% in 2021.

After surprising hospitalized children, Kirel tested positive for COVID-19 a few days later.

The Port of Eilat was announced as the location of the grand finale on Wednesday, as the event will be broadcast live to around 600 million viewers across more than 170 countries.

To celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, Apple Music has collaborated with Israeli artists to celebrate music and look back on the year that is ending as well as look ahead. 

The single is Kirel’s opening salvo in her attempt to gain international stardom. Her Hebrew language songs are huge sellers and her clips are viewed by millions.

Kirel said she would “kind of” play herself in the movie.

The young performers meant to do something patriotic and positive when they released the song on their Instagram accounts, but they were met with a storm of snarky social media comments.
