In February 2026, 12 senators jointly sent a letter to Rubio expressing their concern over the deportation of the asylum seekers back to Iran.

The comments followed over 50 detentions at banned Istanbul Pride and after Turkish officials denied docking permission to a long-planned LGBT cruise.

The meeting focused on resilience and self–discovery from Ramon's life journey, and joins the organization's initiatives to promote an inclusive and diverse work environment.

“Zionism is not a dirty word,” wrote Speidel in a social media post. “It is the belief in Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state.”

In the filmed confrontation at the Friday march, most of Wiener’s hecklers referred to Israel and Gaza, causing him to leave the event rather than attend a scheduled Pride Shabbat.

For many attendees Sunday, the Jew York Pride contingent offered a rare opportunity to celebrate both their LGBTQ and Jewish identities without feeling forced to choose between them.

Wiener was surrounded by people who made statements about his “Israeli handlers, among many other inaccurate, extreme, and vile statements,” Wiener said. 

Alongside pride and institutionalized chapters, the data on the ground is concerning: 35% fear harm to promotion, and a quarter of employers refuse to employ transgender people.
