Trumps told PBS News that he is unsure if the Iranians will attend the talks in Pakistan, while insisting that Tehran will not achieve nuclear weapon capability.

A new round of US-Iran talks begins in Pakistan, but key issues like the Strait of Hormuz remain unresolved.

Meanwhile, at sea, US Central Command says the US blockade of Iran is working. Iran claims that at least one Iranian supertanker had crossed the blockade line and made it to Iran’s Imam Khomeini port

"We are more inclined to go there," Trump told The New York Post, after reports surfaced of a new round of negotiations between the two countries.

"We don't trust the United States," Iranian regime sources said on Tuesday, "and we are also being very busy preparing ourselves for the next round of war."

Vance explained that the US discovered that the team would need to return to Tehran “and actually get approval to the terms we had set…either from the supreme leader or somebody else.”

A source involved in the talks said the parties came "very close" to an agreement and were "80% there" before running into decisions that could not be settled on the spot. 

Meanwhile, Netanyahu says Israel fully backs Trump’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, rejects claims of a rift with Washington, and stresses US demands to halt Tehran's nuclear enrichment program.

Stopping the bombs is a step, but as long as the regime itself is left in power, there will be no change vis-à-vis Iran, with or without a deal.

This shows the country is seeking to take the reins of regional responsibility after many years in which Pakistan seemed consumed by domestic troubles.
