The soldiers, some seven officers and reservists, all in uniform, were met by commanders from the ultra-Orthodox Netzach Yehuda battalion who forbade them from entering.

The military added that, in the same incident, three other Givati soldiers were lightly wounded.

Notably, the two soldiers are the IDF’s first wounded soldiers from ground operations in southern Lebanon, which began earlier this week. 

The tunnels crossed into IDF-controlled areas east of the yellow line, with the IDF attacking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon later on Thursday.

The IDF operation included an attack on two apartments in the camp where terrorists were hiding.

“The reservists are being abandoned because they don’t have a lobby in Likud. The mark of disgrace for abandoning IDF soldiers will be branded on every coalition member,” Bennett said.

The Attorney-General warned the High Court that the government failed to plan for revoking benefits from Haredi draft evaders, despite data showing financial sanctions increased enlistment rates.

Complaints in 2025 range from deficient vehicle defenses to racism, to blocking medical attention for certain soldiers, to invasion of privacy, to abusing military drivers for personal trips.

The suspects' arrests were extended until Wednesday, and one additional suspect, aged 12, was granted conditional release, the statement added. 

The suspects, who stole 4 kilograms of gold jewelry and more than NIS 100,000 in cash, were fully equipped with arms and full tactical uniforms.
