Israel continues to strike Hezbollah, and this aids Syria by keeping the group in check. However, Lebanon’s government has vowed to disarm Hezbollah and has not completed the task yet.

The two countries' delegations also discussed the fate of missing and detained Lebanese people in Syria, an issue that came under the spotlight after the toppling of Assad.

The strikes are said to have significantly depleted the capabilities of Hezbollah's Unit 4400, which is in charge of weapons smuggling. 

Despite losses to Israel, Hezbollah looks to rearm via Syria, posing future threats, say US and Israeli officials.
