Rendering provides a first look at the colors of the Galaxy S26 Ultra

New publications reveal the design of the Galaxy S26 Ultra in six colors, alongside an improvement in the aperture for night photography.

Beyond aesthetics, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature significant upgrades under the hood

The mystery of the runaway black hole - study

A mysterious trail of stars puzzled scientists for some time. While a theory posited this to be a supermassive black hole passing through a gas cloud, a simpler theory has now emerged.

This is an artist's impression of a runaway supermassive black hole that was ejected from its host galaxy as a result of a tussle between it and two other black holes. As the black hole plows through intergalactic space it compresses gas and forms stars (Illustrative).

Scientists discover that galactic collisions cause quasars - study

Contrary to previous beliefs that the quasars are formed at the peak of galactic collision, researchers found that they are actually formed during the initial stages of collision.

This artist’s impression shows how ULAS J1120+0641, a very distant quasar powered by a black hole with a mass two billion times that of the Sun, may have looked.

One of the oldest galaxies ever was found with James Webb Space Telescope

The observation is among the first of a distant galaxy using NASA's James Webb Space Telescope since it was launched in December 2021.

This illustration depicts NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope – the largest, most powerful, and most complex space science telescope ever built – fully unfolded in space. The telescope’s first full-color images and spectroscopic data will demonstrate Webb at its full power, ready to begin its mission

NASA's James Webb Space Telescope takes new image of supernova remnant

Cassiopeia A is the youngest known supernova remnant in the Milky Way Galaxy. NASA's James Webb Space Telescope was able to view it in greater detail than previous observations.

Cassiopeia A (Cas A) is a supernova remnant located about 11,000 light-years from Earth in the constellation Cassiopeia. It spans approximately 10 light-years. This new image uses data from Webb’s Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI) to reveal Cas A in a new light.

Supermassive black hole escapes its galaxy, leaves new stars in its path - study

A supermassive black hole accidentally spotted by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope is now flying through space, leaving a breadcrumb path of stars behind it.

This is an artist's impression of a runaway supermassive black hole that was ejected from its host galaxy as a result of a tussle between it and two other black holes. As the black hole plows through intergalactic space it compresses gas and forms stars (Illustrative).

Universe's ancient galaxies identified using James Webb Space Telescope - studies

The data on these four ancient galaxies, observed when the universe was just a few hundred million years old, was obtained using NASA's James Webb Space Telescope.

Scientists witness birth of a galaxy cluster in early universe - study

Galaxy clusters are some of the largest objects in the universe, but how are they formed? ESO and ALMA studied the Spiderweb protocluster and found proof it is turning into a cluster.

This image shows the protocluster around the Spiderweb galaxy at a time when the Universe was only 3 billion years old. Most of the mass in the protocluster does not reside in the galaxies that can be seen in the center of the image, but the gas.

Scientists discover one of the largest black holes ever found - study

The supermassive black hole at the center of Abell 1201 BCG was found using gravitational lensing. It's so big that it might be part of a new category: Ultramassive black holes.

Stars used to be a lot brighter, bigger and denser, study finds

Once the stars died, the conditions needed for their development were never available for them to appear again.

Why is this galaxy all alone? It absorbed all its neighbors - study

Quasar galaxy 3C 297 is all alone in space, but from what we know, it should be within a galaxy cluster. How did this happen? It seemingly ate all of them.

This image taken with the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope shows the galaxy 3C 297, which was part of a large survey of galaxies. The galaxies in the pictures look close on a 2D image, but in reality they're in completely different parts of space.
