While a few live-action remakes have been good – Aladdin was probably the most fun – I think most children will always prefer the cartoon versions, and so will a lot of adults. 

“I’m just a girl from a town in Israel and could have never imagined such a moment,” Gadot said.

Whatever happens with Snow White, it seems that Gadot, who survived the health crisis and has spoken out about the importance of women taking care of themselves, can handle it.

"But we can't hold our breaths and pray or beg for support from people, groups, community that don't want to be there for us," she said. "We need to be there for ourselves."

This year's broadcast had fewer symbols about the Israel-Hamas conflict than last year, but some acceptance speeches mentioned the hostages in Gaza and antisemitism.

The announcement of Gadot’s participation comes following her appearance at the Golden Globes in January, where she also presented an award.

While many celebrities celebrated the release of Romi Gonen, Doron Steinbrecher and Emily Damari, Israel's critics were silent on the women's plight and newly returned freedom.

The Golden Globes released a statement saying that Gadot and all other presenters were allowed to wear any political or social symbols they chose.

"Yesterday, we received a sign of life from Liri - a sign that sharpened the pain that Liri, along with 99 other hostages, has been held captive in Hamas tunnels for over 450 days," Gadot wrote.

“Anything that has delicious food and brings people together, I love” Gadot said, regarding growing up in Israel and celebrating the holiday.
