"Succession" was named best drama series, an award it had won in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted its production schedule, while "Ted Lasso" won best comedy series.

Glikson was ultimately surprised to win the Emmy as part of the Stranger Things team, but for her, it’s the validation of all her efforts in her career.

The leading show across all categories was “Succession,” with 25 nominations total, followed by “Ted Lasso,” “The White Lotus,” “Only Murders In The Building” and “Hacks.”

The series, created by Moshe Zonder, is broadcast on Israeli channel KAN 11 and on AppleTV+ internationally. 

Advocate was also nominated for a second award, Outstanding Politics and Government Documentary.

The film was set to be screened at the Docaviv Galilee festival in 2019 at a municipal auditorium in Ma’alot Tarshiha, but then-mayor Arkady Pomeranets canceled the screening.

“We all were in the same school trailer. We would eat hot links and bagels for breakfast every morning — very Black and Jewish of us,” Jurnee Smollett joked.
