The investigation began after an 11-month-old was hospitalized with an ear injury, and later raised suspicions of additional violence against toddlers at the daycare.

The lawsuit filed by Jane Doe added fuel to the fire online when it stated that the accused were “afforded the opportunity to mitigate their conduct by submitting essays to Cornell.” 

Thomas Giuffra, who represents the woman identified as "Jane Doe," told CNN that people have threatened to silence or harm her if she does not withdraw her civil lawsuit.

"Not one of these guys was arrested. Not one. That I can tell you for a fact," Jane Doe's attorney, Thomas Giuffra, told CBS News New York last week. 

The 22-year-old suspect, Krybus Shimon, is a fellow congregant of Yeshiva Gevoah Toldos, an Orthodox synagogue in Borough Park, the New York Police Department said.

Shenkar was convicted in February of nine counts of abusing a helpless minor as a caregiver, 33 counts of assaulting a helpless minor and causing injury, and two counts of aggravated assault.

In response to inquiries from The Jerusalem Post, both the Metropolitan Police and the British Transport Police stated they have no record of any report matching the incident.

In one case, files show a defendant shouting antisemitic abuse at a mother carrying a baby before aggressively swinging her arms at the schoolchildren.

The indictment, filed with the Beersheba District Court, charges all 12 with reckless homicide, aggravated serious bodily harm, and multiple counts of aggravated assault causing bodily harm.
