"I’m demanding that these countries come in and protect their own territory because it is their territory," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on the way from Florida to Washington.

The comment follows US President Donald Trump telling reporters aboard Air Force One that Iran is "seriously" talking to the US and hinted at a deal to avoid military strikes.

"I stopped 837 hangings on Thursday," Trump told the press on Friday morning. "And I said, 'if you hang those people, you're gonna be hit harder than you've ever been hit.'"

The plane must undergo extensive modifications before US President Donald Trump can board it, though the precise details of those modifications are classified, CNN reported. 

Trump added that he threatened Iran with US airstrikes if the Islamic Republic's regime carried out hangings of protesters and political dissidents as planned, and Tehran backed down as a result.

During his remarks at Davos, Trump said that the United States would not use force to acquire Greenland. • "We want a piece of ice for world protection, and they won't give it," Trump said.
