Mojtaba Khamenei is believed to have been injured in the same airstrikes that killed his father, whom he recently succeeded as Iran's supreme leader.

Addressing Iran's overnight strikes targeting Citibank in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, Araghchi stated in the interview that they were retaliation for the recent attack on Iran's Bank Sepah.

Other ships are free to pass, although many prefer not to due to “security concerns,” which Araghchi claimed have nothing to do with Iran.

According to US President Donald Trump's announcement, the strikes were focused on military targets on the island and avoided the oil installations.

Asked in an interview on Monday evening about the possibility of negotiations with Tehran, Trump told Fox he heard Tehran wanted to talk badly.

Araghchi also added that Iran's attacks through the Middle East were "the consequence of the US aggression against us."

The United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia have all come under heavy drone and missile fire from Iran over the past week.
