Sometimes the simplest gesture, cooking a meal, can become an act of solidarity. Tammuz, a new cookbook created by the founders of the Israeli cooking app Vinst, under the title ‘MeHa’otef BeAhavah’ (translated as “From the Envelope with Love”), brings together Israeli farms and some of the country’s leading culinary voices in one heartfelt project.

Thirty-one food bloggers and journalists, including Ruthie Russo, Liza Panelim, Raheli Krut, Yehudit Aviv, Adeena Sussman, and David Guedj, each adopted a farm in the Gaza Envelope and contributed a recipe inspired by its produce. From tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants to asparagus, zucchini, and bananas, the region’s bounty fills the pages. Every shekel earned from the book’s sales goes directly back to the farmers, whose fields provide much of Israel’s fresh vegetables and who continued working under challenging conditions since October 7.

Published in collaboration with the Vinst smart cooking app, Tammuz is more than a cookbook, it is a lifeline connecting the public to the Gaza Envelope’s agricultural community, helping ensure their work continues to nourish the country. To purchase the book (NIS 99), visit here.
