Vegan Nutella Spread, Ferrero
One of the most talked-about jars in the world (yes, in the world) is landing in Israel (the first country outside Europe, as proudly stated here) and continues a hot online and social buzz. And rightly so.
The new vegan Nutella spread replaces dairy ingredients with plant-based ones such as chickpeas and rice syrup and adds a local bonus to the jar (350 grams instead of 400, take note) in the form of a parve label.
The result is surprising—almost shocking—and raises many questions, mainly about the original product (and why it took 61 years for this launch), but since Nutella is primarily sugar, vegetable oil, and hazelnuts (13%), it’s safe to say those questions answer themselves. It’s creamy, it’s sexy, it’s a cultural phenomenon. Now vegans know it too.
Snow 23, Tura Winery
The family-owned boutique winery continues the holiday season with a bottle meant for the center of the table—but that will never actually make it there, as it will be poured long before.
Snow 2023 by Tura Winery (NIS 83) is a dry white blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay grapes grown in the Bracha vineyard. It has a light yellow hue, very prominent floral-fruity aromas, and a refreshing sip with wonderful tangy notes.
Tov Ta’am and Cow Chocolate with Instant Coffee Filling, Elite
A double holiday launch by the local chocolate giant plays, as expected, on the sweet nostalgia we all share—whether in its classic as-is form or as a modern version of that very classic.
First, a very intriguing comeback of the Tov Ta’am bar, returning to shelves after a three-year absence in a family-size format (30 grams per bar, 16 units per bag), as a limited edition and unchanged—coated wafer filled with chocolate-flavored cream, featuring those famous, almost mythological “cream hills.” It’s emotional, exciting, and even the younger generation, who never climbed, connected immediately.
At the same time, a new Cow Chocolate series arrives, “with the taste of coffee”—milk and white chocolate filled with instant coffee mousse—a fusion between Elite’s major home brands and a nod to the whipped coffee trend. The execution is excellent, moderately caffeinated, delicate in sweetness and texture, and overall ranks high among the brand’s combinations.
Tropical Flavored Drink, Prigat
The local beverage brand is expanding its lineup with a launch inspired by other worlds, in tune with Israeli preferences as shown in an independent study.
Prigat’s new tropical bottle offers a rich, thick fruit blend in a bright orange color. It brings together pineapple, mango, banana, and passionfruit, with no preservatives, resulting in a coherent, sweet, and relatively unique sip for its genre—perfect as is, slightly diluted with water, or as part of a refreshing island cocktail.
Pesek Zman and 09 Capsules, Elite
A collaboration between the food giant and the “One in Nine” organization has produced two new editions ahead of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. One could cynically call it marketing and sales, but one could also appreciate an initiative driven by positivity and community spirit. When it’s done tastefully and elegantly like this, we’ll always prefer the latter.
Thus, the “You’re Not Alone” edition of Elite Coffee arrives on shelves—a pink pack of 09 capsules that highlights the loneliness felt by women with breast cancer, inviting them to join the organization’s “By Your Side” program that connects survivors with patients and pledging to donate part of the proceeds to the organization’s activities.
Alongside it comes a pink Pesek Zman bar, designed to raise awareness for early breast cancer detection, including a QR code leading to a page where one can book a screening appointment, and featuring the fitting slogan “Take a break”—both timely and meaningful.
