Anyone driving to Pardes Hanna before summer ends will soon have a new spot to visit. On August 27, "The Stables Market" will launch at the Artists' Stables complex - a new farmers' market featuring around 25 stalls of farmers, artisanal producers, winemakers, and craftsmen, along with plenty of options to stop for a bite and a drink along the way.
Spanning approximately 300 square meters at the entrance to the Stables complex - which has established itself as one of the region's prominent entertainment hubs in recent years - the market aims to create a large, neighborhood-style atmosphere that also appeals to out-of-town visitors. It offers a space where guests can pick up weekend groceries, meet the people behind the produce, and linger for another glass of wine, a bite to eat, and background music.
Stalls are set to offer sourdough bread, cakes and pastries, boutique cheeses, cured meats, olive oil, fresh fruits and vegetables, pasta, wine, tahini, honey, spices, pickles, and olives. The venue will also showcase unique plants and flowers, coffee, and alcohol bars, with the Antebi shawarma cart expected to join at a later stage.
Weekend shopping and an entertainment complex
The vision behind the initiative is to offer a "One-Stop Market" for the weekend: A place to stroll among stalls and gather vegetables, olive oil, cheese, bread, wine, spices, and flowers - without limiting the visit strictly to shopping. Alongside the market, visitors can explore the broader Artists' Stables complex, which boasts restaurants, cafes, boutique shops, galleries, and local businesses.
The layout of the market has been tailored for an experiential visit rather than a quick errand. The space will incorporate lush greenery, shaded areas, open-air passages, and cooling misters, accompanied by a musical backdrop ranging from country to other genres. Looking ahead, a small stage is slated to host performances by local artists and cultural events.
Local founders with a vision
The project is spearheaded by local residents and couple Shai Barkat and Meital Rusnak. Barkat, who works in construction, events, and production, previously partnered in establishing Mosh's Beach on the Sea of Galilee alongside other hospitality ventures, while Rusnak brings a background in tech and currently works in plant cultivation and garden design.
According to the founders, the area at the entrance to the complex, which remained largely underutilized until now, felt like a natural location for a market connecting local producers with area residents and visitors. "We dreamed of creating a place that puts the spotlight back on producers and growers, giving them a chance to connect with local residents and visitors from across the country," they say. "We wanted to create a high-quality space close to home where people can drop by before Shabbat to buy quality produce directly from the maker, sit down with a glass of wine, enjoy good food, and soak in the atmosphere."
"The Stables Market" will open on August 27, operating on Thursdays from 14:00 to 20:00 and Fridays from 8:00 to 16:00.
Admission is free, with ample parking available at the complex.
