The three people arrested for assaulting a nine-month pregnant Arab woman, as well as her children and mother-in-law, in Jaffa on Saturday, have been identified as Hilltop Youth, Israeli public broadcaster KAN News reported on Tuesday.

According to initial reports, KAN explained, the three assaulted the woman while she sat in her car with her family, spraying them with pepper spray while shouting “dirty Arab."

“One of them also spat on the child," she said in an interview with KAN. "They claimed that we took their country and took their land. I did not understand how this could happen like this in Jaffa, in broad daylight, in the middle of the street.”

Israel Police have called the incident a "racist attack."

Their detention has also been extended by five days, according to KAN.

Arab woman 'attacked without any provocation'

The three reportedly were previously held under administrative detention for six months, KAN reported. Following the incident, they have also allegedly been barred from entering the West Bank.

"My clients are the ones who were attacked without any provocation," Attorney Asaf Gonen, of the Honenu legal aid organization, who is representing the three, was quoted as saying. "They arrived in Jaffa for a walking tour, when several men and two women began to gather around and threaten them."

"My clients defended themselves against an attack and did so in the most proportionate manner. I regret that the media chose to immediately adopt the other side’s version without waiting for the facts to be clarified in court.”
