An individual opened fire on Israel Police officers near Hebron in the West Bank, police said Monday.

According to the police report, officers from the Hebron station noticed suspicious activity in a vehicle and stopped it for inspection.

When the vehicle was stopped, an armed terrorist exited and fired at the officers, who then proceeded to kill this assailant.

"The officers’ decisive engagement and rapid reaction led to the immediate neutralization of the threat and prevented harm to both security personnel and civilians," the West Bank District Commander, Deputy Commissioner Moshe Pinchi, said.

Border Police arrest three for throwing Molotov cocktails 

In a separate incident, assailants threw several Molotov cocktails towards a Border Police position in the West Bank over the weekend, police said Monday.

Border Police officers collected footage in order to identify the assailants, including the route they took to escape to a nearby village after the incident.

This led to officers identifying one of the scooters used by the assailants.

Officers then used drone surveillance and other technological means to identify and track the assailants, arresting three.
