US Attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Ferris Pirro, on Thursday published a several-minute-long video that showed footage, including Cole Allen shooting a US Secret Service officer during his alleged attempt to assassinate the president at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
"We are releasing video already provided to US District Court," Pirro wrote on X/Twitter.
"My office, along with the FBI, will continue this extensive investigation to bring Cole Allen to justice," she added.
"There is no evidence [that] the shooting [of the Secret Service officer] was the result of friendly fire," she said.
"The video also shows Allen casing the area in the Hilton Hotel the day before the attack," she stated.
Video shows officer, canine, appearing to search for Allen
The video shows Allen walking through a doorway in the hall leading to the security checkpoint, CNN reported.
The next second, an officer and his canine approached the door, which led to separate hallways and elevators, the outlet said.
The officer then stands at the doorway looking down the hallway containing the elevators for approximately 12 seconds. At the same time, the canine moved in and out of the doorway. During these 12 seconds, the camera angle did not show Allen, CNN wrote.
The officer and canine turned around to walk away. One second later, Allen can be seen running out of the doorway with a shotgun, heading towards the security checkpoint.
