Elon Musk's satellite internet service Starlink was back online for most users after a brief outage on Monday, according to tracking website Downdetector.com.

The number of US users reporting issues fell below 1,000 as of 1:15 a.m. ET, down from a peak of more than 43,000, Downdetector said. The platform tracks outages by collating status reports from multiple sources.

"Starlink is currently experiencing a service outage. Our team is investigating," it said.

The message has since been removed.

Starlink, operated by Musk's SpaceX, provides internet services via a constellation of low-Earth orbit satellites and is widely used in remote areas and conflict zones.

SpaceX did not immediately respond to a Reuters' request for comment.

Starlink in Israel

Starlink’s satellite internet service is now available in Israel, along with the coverage map and prices. Elon Musk’s company has begun marketing its reception router and external antenna. Upload and download speeds are relatively high, but the prices are certainly not cheap.

Israel’s connection to Elon Musk’s satellite internet service was made possible after the Communications Ministry granted Starlink the required license in 2024, following the completion of the necessary coordination with the company. According to the coverage map published by the company, connections can be activated throughout the country, though not in areas of the Palestinian Authority.
