When one of Israel’s most established fashion houses joins forces with one of the country’s most highly regarded designers, the result is a collection poised to redefine local eveningwear. Golbary, the fashion chain with around 80 stores nationwide, is launching its first collaboration with designer Dror Kontento, and the stakes are high: Bringing the world of couture to every woman—at affordable prices.

Black and White as a Design Manifesto

The new collection, launched in all branches and on the brand’s online store, focuses entirely on black and white tones. This choice is no coincidence—it pays homage to timeless elegance while offering a modern and dramatic interpretation.

“This is a collection that celebrates the duality of women,” explains Kontento. “On one hand—classic, elegant, and quiet; on the other—powerful, dramatic, and full of presence. The choice of black and white sharpens this language, just like a sharp pencil on a white sheet of paper.”

The monochrome palette allows the collection’s design details to fully shine—from precise tailoring to combinations of lace, embroidery, and hand-crafted jewelry elements.

The key pieces in the collection offer a wide range of options for any event: Midi and maxi evening dresses with strong presence and delicate lace or a signature jewelry element as a focal point, tailored suits featuring flattering jackets and vests paired with pants in various cuts, button-up blouses with romantic embroidery and refined details, and pencil skirts in especially flattering silhouettes.

A standout item in the collection is a jumpsuit featuring a jeweled belt—a piece that makes a bold statement on its own.

Orly Franco-Golbary, Golbary’s VP of Marketing, emphasizes the importance of accessibility in the collection. “Choosing Dror Kontento as a partner for our eveningwear collection was no accident. We were looking for a unique voice that connects to feminine power, complexity, and emotion—and Dror brings all of that and more.”

According to her, “This collection is not just fashion—it’s a statement. It bridges the world of couture and everyday life, allowing every woman to feel like she’s walking the red carpet—even if she’s just going out for dinner.”

With prices ranging from NIS 249 for a skirt to NIS 449 for an evening dress, the collection offers an accessible alternative to the traditional world of couture. “During event season, the average Israeli woman spends a lot on fashion pieces, so we made sure to focus on timeless items,” Franco-Golbary adds.
