Flight demand continues to rise, and Ethiopian Airlines is expanding its operations in Israel. Tal Aviation Group, the airline’s representative in Israel, announced that between August 3 and August 31, five weekly flights will be added on the Tel Aviv-Addis Ababa route, bringing the total number of flights from 21 to 26 per week.
The new flights will operate Sunday through Thursday, joining the company's existing flight schedule. Additionally, Ethiopian will operate the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on select flights, a step that will also increase the number of seats available to passengers.
The airline explained that the expansion of activity aims to address the high demand during the summer season, providing passengers with greater flexibility in choosing flight dates alongside improved availability and convenience.
Addis Ababa serves as Ethiopian Airlines’ primary operational hub, allowing passengers from Israel to catch connecting flights to more than 150 destinations across Africa, Asia, North America, and other locations worldwide. For many travelers, it is one of the main connecting points for flights to the African continent, as well as to destinations in the East and the Indian Ocean.
According to the new flight schedule, the additional flights will depart Tel Aviv Sunday through Thursday at 03:15 and land in Addis Ababa at 07:30. In the opposite direction, flights will depart Addis Ababa at 21:50 and land at Ben-Gurion Airport at 02:00 the following day.
