Paul Corcoran from Massachusetts won $2 million from the Powerball in July with two separate tickets after mistakenly purchasing the same numbers, the company announced.

With two tickets, Corcoran was able to claim the Wednesday $1 million drawing twice and walked away with a handsome $2 million prize.

After already purchasing a ticket, Corcoran mixed up the dates of the drawing and thought it had already occurred. He later purchased another multi-draw ticket with the same numbers. Both were to be drawn on July 9.

The winning numbers

White balls 5, 9, 25, 28, 69 and red Powerball 5 secured him the millions, which he collected on July 11.

Despite walking away with twice the winnings, Corcoran said he didn’t yet know what he would do with the sum.

While the overall odds of winning a prize are one in 24.9, according to Powerball, the odds of winning the jackpot are one in 292.2 million.
