Several areas in Sirik, southern Iran, were hit by projectiles on Wednesday, Iranian state media reported.

Sirik was previously among several areas targeted during a wave of US strikes on southern Iran earlier in September.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) said at the time it carried out strikes against Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets, including air defense sites, radar systems, maritime assets and facilities, mine-laying capabilities, and communications sites.
Previous strikes in Sirik
Iranian state media reported explosions in Sirik, Bandar Abbas, Ahvaz, and Aghajari during the strikes.
A September 1 strike in Kuhestak, in Sirik County, hit a wedding celebration, killing four people and injuring at least 68 others. Weapons experts who reviewed images and video of the scene later told Reuters that the explosion likely resulted from a direct hit by a US munition.
US strikes target Iran's capabilities around Strait of Hormuz
US strikes have targeted Iranian capabilities used to surveil the Strait of Hormuz and threaten vessels traveling through the waterway.
The Institute for the Study of War assessed last week that US strikes had significantly degraded Iran's ability to surveil the strait and lay mines in the waterway.
CENTCOM previously said US forces had cleared naval mines from the strait, while CENTCOM commander Adm. Brad Cooper said US forces had cleared an effective pathway for ships to leave the Persian Gulf and that Iran's mines had been "highly degraded."
ISW assessed that Iran would likely continue attempting to rebuild its maritime surveillance and mine-laying capabilities.
US-Iran tensions escalate in Persian Gulf
The IRGC claimed on Wednesday that it attacked two US vessels and eight oil tankers in the Persian Gulf in response to what it called a US attack on five Iranian tankers, Iranian state media reported.
The IRGC said it attacked 10 ships attempting to cross what it described as a "prohibited and unsafe" area of the Strait of Hormuz.
CENTCOM confirmed on Tuesday that it had destroyed five Iranian crude oil tankers after Iran attempted to attack US Navy ships.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned Iran on Tuesday that the US would continue to strike Iranian oil tankers in retaliation for attempted attacks on US warships.
The latest report from Sirik comes amid continued tensions between Iran and the US in and around the Persian Gulf.
