The British government on Thursday said it was providing an £88 million ($116.25 million) package of support for humanitarian relief and early recovery in Gaza.
The funding would help deliver health care, clean water, sanitation and hygiene services, waste management and protection support to people in Gaza and the West Bank, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) said in a statement.
The funding will include support for "medical consultation, rehabilitation for children with blast injuries, safe water provision, and vital mental health services," the FCDO said.
The UK is working to bring together Jordanian and Qatari "partners...to drive action on humanitarian access and Gaza's recovery," the FCDO added.
Miliband: Vital Gazan civilians have unhindered access to aid
"It is vital that civilians in Gaza have unhindered access to aid," Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband said.
"The UK is pledging a major new package of aid to provide much-needed healthcare support to those desperately in need," Miliband added.
"We urge the Government of Israel to listen to our Call to Action and take steps to end its unacceptable restrictions on Gaza," Miliband stated.
