Israeli vehicle tracking company Ituran signed a principal sponsorship agreement this week with M.K. Otef Darom basketball club.
Under the terms of the agreement, the M.K. Otef Darom basketball team will feature the Ituran logo on the front of their uniforms for all home and away games. The sponsorship also includes advertisements both inside and outside the court, and on the team’s digital assets.
Beyond the marketing visibility, this is a genuine partnership that carries social and community value, aligning with Ituran’s core principles. Following the events of October 7, Ituran’s management felt compelled to take an active part in the national effort to bolster the Gaza Envelope communities and their residents who are undergoing a renewed recovery.
The aim is to strengthen the hope that residents can return to a normal life where the most significant tension they face is the excitement of a team basketball game. This support will also provide a boost to the younger generation in the Envelope, creating a platform to draw them into the world of sports.
The M.K. Otef Darom team is a story of hope and community resilience, founded after the events of October 2023 and located in the Gaza Envelope near Kibbutz Magen. The team includes a blend of young professional players and veterans who chose to move to the region, seeking professional development while also being part of a project that extends beyond basketball.
More than just a basketball club from Gaza Envelope
While M.K. Otef Darom is a professional team with high ambitions for success, off the court, it is a community club dedicated to the power of sport to change lives.
Ituran’s involvement in community and social activities within the sports sector is long-standing. The company has adopted the city of Kiryat Shmona, and Ituran, led by company President Izzy Sheratzky, is also the owner of the Ironi Kiryat Shmona football club.
That club has achieved significant milestones, including a National Championship, a National Cup, and European appearances for the senior team, and provides a professional and values-based environment for hundreds of children and teenagers in its youth divisions across the North.
