A soldier from the IDF's Golani Brigade was injured during an "operational accident" in the southern Gaza Strip on Monday, the military confirmed on Tuesday morning.

The soldier, who is from the brigade's 13th Battalion, was "severely injured" in the incident and was evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment.

The family was contacted and notified of the incident, the military noted.

The incident occurred when the soldier fell from a building in the Strip, Army Radio's military correspondent, Doron Kadosh, reported.

In a separate incident, a soldier was badly hurt in what the IDF called an “operational accident” at a base in the North on Monday.

“The soldier was transferred to receive medical treatment,” the military said.

This second incident occured when a grenade exploded during a training exercise, Kadosh reported.
