IDF soldiers killed a terrorist after he carried out a stabbing attack in the Ganim area of the West Bank, the military said on Thursday.
Israeli media reported that the terrorist had stabbed a man in the leg. The man has been taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries, fully conscious.
Later, Army Radio reported that the terrorist had been a 28-year-old Palestinian Authority policeman.
The military said it was investigating the attempted attack, the second such attack reported in the West Bank on Thursday.
In a statement on Thursday evening, the IDF announced that soldiers were operating at the scenes of both of the terror attacks, and had entered the homes of two of the terrorists in order to investigate and question witnesses.
Earlier on Thursday, a 51-year-old man, Itamar Cohen, was seriously wounded in a stabbing attack at the Derech Avraham Farm near the West Bank settlement of Elon Moreh.
The man was stabbed in the chest while attempting to put out a fire that had been set by Palestinian residents of the nearby village of Beit Furik. The IDF said the man was evacuated by helicopter to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
Defense Minister Israel Katz and Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan spoke with Cohen, wishing him a speedy and full recovery and offering support to him and his family.
Katz emphasized Israel's commitment to fighting terrorism, protecting its citizens, and strengthening settlement in the West Bank.

The man was attacked by two Palestinians attackers, who were killed by the IDF at the scene.
The IDF, in coordination with the police, has restricted the area around Beit Faruk, and investigators are cooperating with Israel Fire and Rescue to determine the circumstances surrounding the start of the fire.
