Popular Israeli singer Sasson Shaulov was lightly wounded in a car accident on Thursday night, Magen David Adom announced on Friday.
The pop singer was in the vehicle with several other passengers in Tel Aviv when the collision occurred.
Shaulov and his passengers did not need to be taken to the hospital, Magen David Adom stated.
Later on Friday, Israel Police announced that officers in Taiba had hit a minor with their car during routine operations.
The minor, the police stated, was suspected to have suddenly exited a moving vehicle.
The officers gave the minor medical treatment for minor injuries, and took him to the hospital. The incident is still under investigation, police stated.
Police stop minor driving on highway
On Tuesday evening, police stopped a vehicle on Route 806 after noticing that the driver appeared to be a minor.
During their investigation, the police discovered that the driver was only nine years old, and that his 63-year-old father was sitting next to him in the passenger seat.
According to the father, a man from Arrabe, he had allowed his son to drive because the family was undergoing a divorce and he wanted to "do good for the kid."
The father was detained for questioning and further investigation, while the car was impounded for 30 days.
"The Israel Police takes very seriously any behavior that endangers public safety, especially when it involves putting a minor behind the wheel," the police stated. "
This is an act that could have ended in a major disaster and endangered the lives of the child, the vehicle's passengers, and all road users. The police will continue to act with determination and zero tolerance against life-threatening traffic offenses, and will bring to justice anyone who chooses to endanger public safety."
