The US Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, is set to arrive in Israel in the second week of December for his first official visit since taking office, at the invitation of Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon.

Danon, serving his second term as Israel's UN representative, will accompany Waltz throughout the trip.

The itinerary includes consultations in Jerusalem with senior officials, alongside briefings by the defense establishment on the eastern, northern, and southern fronts.

Waltz is also slated to tour border communities to assess security conditions and civil defense needs.

The visit comes amid intensive UN deliberations on post-war arrangements for Gaza, including US-backed proposals for an international stabilization force and related ceasefire mechanisms.

Recent Security Council discussions featured both Waltz and Danon.

The two envoys were seen conferring during last week’s Security Council sessions in New York, where the United States signaled support for measures aimed at preventing Hamas’s rearmament and stabilizing Gaza.
