Four children were injured following a roof collapse at a kindergarten in Beit Shemesh, Israel's Fire and Rescue Authority stated on Sunday.
Medical officials said several people received treatment at the site and were then evacuated to the hospital with minor injuries.
No life-threatening injuries were reported.
Beit Shemesh Municipality decides to demolish the structure
Following assessments by the municipality and security forces, it was decided to demolish the structure in a controlled manner, according to a statement released by the Beit Shemesh Municipality, which added that the incident is being investigated.
"A planned power outage is in effect at the site, and Israel Electric Corporation crews are working to restore electricity once required operations are completed," the statement went on.
"The Beit Shemesh Municipality will continue supporting the families and ensuring that all professional inspections needed to guarantee full safety are completed as soon as possible," it concluded.
