Israeli security forces arrested an individual on suspicion of intentionally poisoning livestock in the Palestinian town of Al-Mughayyir, near Ramallah, in the West Bank on Saturday.

A shepherd reported the deaths of two goats to police earlier in the day after eating fruit suspected of being poisoned.

A police officer investigating the incident identified and tracked footprints that led to a house in the area, where the IDF's Binyamin Brigade had located and arrested a suspect after the shepherd identified him as someone who was seen in the vicinity of the livestock at the time of the poisoning.

The suspect was brought into the Binyamin Police Station for further questioning.

Major livestock incident in West Bank back in July

A previous incident in the West Bank in July saw Palestinian Bedouins accusing Israeli settlers of killing 117 sheep in an overnight attack.

The Israelis were also accused of stealing hundreds of other livestock in the incident last summer.

Veterinarians were called in to treat a handful of sheep that had survived the knife and gun attack.
