A man in his 30s was stabbed by an unknown individual on a street in Lod on Wednesday morning, Israel Police announced. The background appears to be criminal.
The victim was evacuated in serious condition to the Shamir Medical Center in Tzrifin, and authorities opened an investigation into the incident.
Ynet reported that the man was 32 years old, and was stabbed while on his way to go shopping with his wife.
The victim told Ynet, “An Arab man jumped on me and stabbed me in the stomach.” The suspect was later arrested by authorities, apprehended near Dimona, and is set to be brought before a court for a remand hearing on Thursday.
