US President Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Arabella Kushner, sent handwritten letters to all 20 living hostages released from Gaza last week under the ceasefire deal advanced by her grandfather.
Arabella, the daughter of Jared Kushner and Ivanka Kushner, is 14 years old.
The letters were delivered by her father, who was in Israel this week and played a central role in brokering the ceasefire. Kushner, together with Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, met with several of the freed hostages in Tel Aviv on Tuesday to deliver the notes.
The meeting included Omri Miran, Gali Berman, Ziv Berman, Yosef-Chaim Ohana, Matan Angrest, Bar Kupershtein, Segev Kalfon, Nimrod Cohen, and Eitan Horn.
According to a statement from the Hostages and Missing Families Forum Headquarters, the former captives expressed “profound gratitude” to President Donald Trump for making their freedom a top priority and “working tirelessly” to help bring them home.
A photograph released by the US embassy showed Kushner with former hostage Nimrod Cohen holding an envelope addressed “From Arabella.” Another image showed Kushner holding a stack of letters while meeting freed twins Gali and Ziv Berman.
One of the notes, written to Segev Kalfon, read, “Your strength gives hope to so many people around the world. I admire your bravery and the light you bring to others! Thank you, Arabella Kushner.”
The Hostages and Missing Families Forum referenced Arabella’s message in a post, writing, “Hostages like Segev Kalfon did everything they could to survive. Little did they know the profound impact they would have on people around the world."
'Your family has given us so much light and hope'
Referencing the words Arabella wrote, the forum continued, "It’s mutual, Arabella. Your family has given us so much light and hope. They, too, have stood strong and made brave decisions when it mattered most. Thank you.”
During Trump’s first term, Arabella's parents, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, served as White House advisers.
They do not currently hold government positions, though Kushner has been involved in advancing and implementing the Gaza ceasefire.
