Ra'anana resident Guy Illouz was kidnapped at the Nova music festival massacre in Re'im on October 7, 2023, and was murdered during Hamas captivity in Gaza, where his remains were held for some two years since.

The IDF informed the family of his death on December 1, 2023, 56 days after his capture and subsequent kidnapping into Gaza by Hamas terrorists on October 7.

He was 26 at the time of his murder.

Illouz was music and sound technician who took part in the festival and worked with prominent Israeli musicians including Shalom Hanoch, Matti Caspi, and the band, HaYehudim.

Marking his 27th birthday, HaYehudim posthumously honored Ilouz by dedicated one of their songs, 'War Bell,' to him during a concert last year.

Illouz was recorded as telling his father, "Dad, I love you, I was shot," in their final conversation on the morning of the massacre.

He was taken hostage along his good friend Almog Sarusi, who was also murdered in Hamas captivity and whose body was located by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip in September of last year.

"He had a huge heart, he only wanted people to be happy," another firend, Guy Videa, said of the deceased. "Guy was surrounded by an energy field of love and respect," musician Moshe Levi also said.

"He was a wonderful melody."
