A large-scale brawl unfolded late Saturday night into Sunday morning at Cinema City in Jerusalem, involving dozens of Jewish teenagers and Arab cafeteria workers, Israeli media reported Saturday night.
Footage from the scene captures the teenagers rioting, throwing objects at food counter staff, and shouting "Death to Arabs."
Three cafeteria workers sustained minor injuries in the altercation and did not require medical treatment, reports said. The workers reportedly threw objects back at the teenagers.
Police and Cinema City response
Police responded to a report of the fight around 2:00 a.m. Suspects fled the scene by the time officers arrived, and the injured employees were unable to identify them, resulting in no immediate detentions. Authorities are continuing their investigation and searching for those involved in the violent incident.
Cinema City released a statement affirming: "We view with great seriousness the violent incident that occurred late at night in the Jerusalem complex." The cinema chain described dozens of teenagers "rioting, cursing and throwing objects at the cafeteria workers with the aim of harming them, until police arrived and dispersed the rioters."
The management emphasized that "incidents of violence receive special attention and are handled with all means at our disposal, including security and policing intervention, as in this case."
Cinema City added: “We call on the viewing audience and their parents to educate their children to maintain a viewing and entertainment culture that will ensure a powerful and enjoyable experience for the general public."
