Israel Police and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) arrested a Ra'anana couple on suspicion of spying for Iran, the police said in a statement on Tuesday.

The couple, both in their 30s, were arrested and expected to appear in court on Tuesday for a hearing on extending their detention.

Detectives from the Central District Police arrested the couple after covert investigations in cooperation with the Shin Bet.

On Monday, detectives arrived at the couple's apartment in Ra'anana, and during a search, they seized multiple mobile phones, computers, and other technological equipment, along with correspondence suspected to be communication between the suspects and their Iranian handler, the police noted.

Three men arrested on Monday over Iran espionage

On Monday, three men were arrested in separate cases for spying for the Islamic Republic during the war with Israel.  Two of the men were in contact with Iranian agents over the past few months, passing along footage of shopping malls and information about them, like how many security guards there were, how many stores were inside, the outline of the building, and more.

When they were at these specific locations, the two sent their live location to the agents and initiated more instructions.

It is also suspected that they were instructed to assassinate a person whose details are not known. In order to do so, they were asked to arrive in a different country to train for such an operation, and only then would they be told the identity of the target.

This is a developing story.
