Former hostages and their families are to visit Washington DC to mark two years since the October 7 Massacre, the Hostages and Missing Families Forum announced on Monday.

A special vigil and press conference is set to be held at the "Sukkah of Hope," a symbol that marks the Jewish holiday of Sukkot and the two-year anniversary of the Hamas attack.

The sukkah will stand at the River Pavilion at the John F. Kennedy Center in the US capital.

The commemorative day will begin with a vigil for those killed by Hamas during the attack.

Survivors and hostage family members, including Noa Argamani, Arbel Yehoud, and Orna and Ronen Neutra, will join policymakers, cabinet members, Congress members, and ambassadors.

Trump Ceasefire deal to bring remaining hostages back

Following the vigil, a press conference, in which families and survivors will call on parties to finalize US President Donald Trump's ceasefire deal and ensure the immediate release of all the hostages, will be held.

Trump expressed optimism on Monday that "tremendous progress" was made on his 20-point plan.

The same plan includes the release of 1,950 Palestinians from Israeli prisons, 250 of whom are serving life sentences.
