A Belarusian diplomat was expelled from the Czech Republic following accusations of espionage, the Czech Foreign Affairs Ministry confirmed on Tuesday.
"Diplomacy defends us. We declared a Belarusian diplomat working for the intelligence services persona non grata. We will not tolerate the abuse of diplomatic cover for espionage," the ministry wrote on X/Twitter.
The Czech counterintelligence service said that together with Romanian and Hungarian services, it had "broken up a Belarusian intelligence network being built in Europe."
This is a developing story.
