A Jewish family in Montreal was targeted with antisemitic abuse at La Fontaine Park on Sunday evening while spending the day with relatives who were visiting.
The incident began when the father approached a woman who was walking two dogs in the children’s playground area. He calmly said dogs were not allowed.
In response, the woman launched an expletive-filled rant caught on video.
“Jews aren’t allowed here,” she said in French. “Is that a law? Don’t give me that bull****.”
The father then called the police.
The recorded video footage, which was circulated on social media, showed the woman returning to confront him and asking: “Are you trying to scare me or something? That’s called intimidation.” She demanded to know his neighborhood.
When the father said he did not want to interact with her, and that the police were on their way, she shouted: “Do you think I am not allowed with my dog in this park?”
The father pointed to a nearby sign warning that dogs are banned under threat of a $300 fine.

The woman told him to mind his own business and said: “Your kids are f**ked up because they don’t f**king go to a normal school. So, don’t tell me what to do.”
The confrontation began at about 6:45 p.m. after the family’s children were frightened by dogs near a water fountain, Rebel News website reported. A nearby sign indicated that dogs were prohibited.
The family members waited for more than an hour for the police to arrive before they left, the report said. They filed a formal police report on Monday.
After the incident, the father said he had been shocked by the woman’s response, Rebel News reported. Members of the Jewish community were increasingly growing accustomed to daily occurrences of such hatred, he said.
The Montreal police told Rebel News they had been contacted and were investigating whether charges should be filed against the woman.
Following the publication of the video online, social-media users identified the woman involved as Brigitte Doyon, an interior designer in Montreal.
