Against the backdrop of the military escalation and the start of the US-Israel Operation Roaring Lion, aka Epic Fury, against Iran, the Iranian hacker group Islamic Cyber Resistance has announced the recruitment of cyber experts and resources for what it calls “the great epic battle.” The group is urging supporters to make direct contact in order to integrate into its digital combat network.

The announcement, published on social media channels, is a clear declaration of intent to expand the conflict into the cyber domain.

'Great circle of war'

In an official statement, written in a militant tone, the group declared the “opening of the gates of general recruitment” and the concentration of resources toward what it calls the “great circle of war.”

Unlike localized attacks that have characterized the group’s activity in the past, this appears to be an effort to build a broader technological workforce aimed at disrupting the infrastructure and information systems of both countries.

The group specifically addressed cyber warfare experts and technology professionals who identify with its goals, urging them to participate actively. “Anyone interested in joining this battle is asked to contact its official account,” it posted in both Arabic and English.

This call reflects a shift by attack groups toward a “crowdsourcing” model of offensive capabilities, using heightened tensions to drive actions in the digital space.

The current declaration illustrates the changing dynamics of the conflict, in which cyber operations are not merely tools for intelligence-gathering but a complementary battlefield meant to create deterrent and disruptive effects. While regional military campaigns continue on the ground, groups such as Islamic Cyber Resistance are attempting to challenge Western defense systems and signal that their operations will extend beyond familiar geographical borders.

For now, the group is focusing on building personnel and coordinating attacks with those who respond to the call.
