El Al Airlines announced the launch of a new direct route to San Francisco in the United States, which will begin operating on October 25, 2026.

The new route joins the company's significant expansion move, under which it has announced 11 new destinations around the world in recent months – in Asia, Europe, South America, and now also in North America, as part of the continued realization of El Al's growth strategy and the deepening of its global presence.

The flights to San Francisco will operate at a frequency of three weekly flights on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, using the company's advanced Dreamliner aircraft which include three service classes – economy, premium, and business. The flight duration is expected to be approximately 15 hours and the flight number departing from Israel will be LY49, as a tribute to the San Francisco football team.

This coming winter, 45 weekly flights will operate to the company's six destinations in the United States: New York (JFK and EWR), Miami, Boston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. The new route will address a growing demand from the large business and Israeli community in the San Francisco Bay Area, which is considered one of the central high–tech and innovation hubs in the world.

In addition, thanks to El Al's strategic cooperation agreement with Delta, customers can combine El Al's variety of direct destinations with a variety of continuation destinations across the continent, alongside accumulating points and diamonds.

According to El Al, the price for a round–trip ticket in a CLASSIC economy class, which includes baggage and seating, will cost from $1,199.
