The Idan Hanegev industrial park is changing its face. The Mega DC company has begun development and infrastructure work for the establishment of a large–scale data center (Data Center) on the last plot in the northern lobe of the park. Activity on the plot will turn it into one of the central computing hubs in the south.

The start of work on the ground constitutes a significant milestone in the development of the park, it symbolizes a transition of Idan Hanegev from an industrial zone featuring mainly traditional factories to a hub of innovation, infrastructure, and knowledge–intensive industry, and heralds the next stage: Opening the marketing of the southern part of the park, which is expected to begin in the coming months.

The establishment of a data center of this scale requires complex and stable electricity and communication infrastructures, and the choice of Idan Hanegev is not accidental. It reflects a growing confidence in the strategic advantages of the region: High transport accessibility, land availability, an evolving ecosystem, and the ability to support large–scale projects.

Nir Zamir, Chairman of the Board: "The start of work by the Mega DC company in the Idan Hanegev industrial park is further proof that the Negev is establishing itself as Israel's data and technology center. Completing the marketing in the northern lobe of the industrial zone with a project of this magnitude allows us to look with confidence toward the next stage: Development of the 'southern lobe' of the park. There, we plan to establish a hub of knowledge–intensive industry, which will enjoy a direct connection to the rail network and strategic stability. We are not just developing real estate, we are building the new economy of the south, one that connects advanced cloud infrastructures with maximum transport accessibility, and ensures that the Negev will be the place where Israeli innovation grows."

Yagel Deutsch, CEO of Idan Hanegev Park: "The work that has begun symbolizes an event that is far beyond a real estate project, this is the moment when the Idan Hanegev park officially becomes Israel's technology, innovation, and computing center. We are not just building walls, but establishing a strategic infrastructure that will attract the talents of tomorrow and place the Negev at the forefront of global technology."

Mega DC stated: "The Mega DC company is excited to announce the start of construction work on the data center in the Idan Hanegev park– another significant step in the development of technological infrastructure in the south of the country. We wish to thank the Chairman of the Board, the CEO, and the Idan Hanegev park team for the professional guidance, commitment, and assistance all along the way. Mega DC views this project as a regional growth engine, and looks forward to continued fruitful cooperation that will contribute to positioning the Negev as a leading center of technology, innovation, and advanced employment."

With the completion of the construction of the data center in the northern lobe, the Idan Hanegev industrial park is expected to continue its development momentum into the southern lobe (an additional 1,200 dunams), where additional complexes for the defense industry and knowledge–intensive centers are planned to be established, which will strengthen the Negev's status as a national economic and technological anchor.
