At the Unpacked event held in San Francisco, alongside the unveiling of the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung also announced the new Galaxy Buds4 series – including the Galaxy Buds4 and the Galaxy Buds4 Pro. The new generation of wireless earbuds comes as part of the company’s broader move to strengthen the ecosystem around its flagship devices, with a clear emphasis on sound quality, user comfort, and deep integration with Galaxy devices.
One of the main highlights of tonight’s launch was the visual change. It seems Samsung did its homework following last year’s sharp criticism that previous earbud models were too similar to Apple’s AirPods. This year, the company chose a different and distinct design line that gives the Buds4 series its own unique look while maintaining improved ergonomics.
The main difference between the two models in the new series starts with the earbud structure: The Galaxy Buds4 Pro are designed for users seeking maximum isolation, and they come with silicone tips (In-ear) that provide excellent passive sealing within the ear canal. This physical seal is essential for the active noise cancellation (ANC) capabilities of the Pro model, which is designed to deliver an isolated and immersive sound experience even in noisy environments.
In contrast, the standard Galaxy Buds4 maintain an "open" design without silicone tips. This solution is intended for those who prefer less pressure inside the ear and maximum comfort during extended use throughout the day, even if it slightly reduces the level of noise isolation from the environment.
In terms of performance, the Pro model is equipped with a dual-driver setup and supports Hi-Fi resolution sound, while both models upgrade the microphone array. Combined with Galaxy AI capabilities, this allows smart filtering of background noise and wind gusts during calls, ensuring the user’s voice sounds clear even on busy streets. In addition, the earbuds offer smart integration with other devices in Samsung’s ecosystem, including quick device switching and optimal battery management.
