2025 will not be a year the auto industry remembers fondly. Tens of thousands of cars—estimated at about 30,000, mostly electric—remained unsold for a year and were therefore re-registered as used (“reclassified”). They are now being sold as second-hand at a discount, after the importer has already absorbed the financing costs and, in many cases, the replacement of the 12-volt battery and tires.
Importers no longer expect to see profit from these cars, yet they still must sell them to reduce losses. Thus, the importers’ price lists now include separate entries for “List Price for 0-Km Vehicles” as part of their November sales campaigns.
Before buying, it’s important to check the vehicle’s registration—whether it was registered under a company employee’s name and is now sold as a privately owned vehicle, or under the company’s name, which affects the list price. Examine the car carefully, make sure it has undergone its required annual service (otherwise the warranty will be voided), and check the tires and battery, which usually need replacement at the importer’s expense. Note that the warranty period begins once the vehicle is registered as used.
Volvo: EX30 for NIS 164,000
The electric crossover—twin model to the Smart #1, Zeekr X, and Lynk & Co 02—was originally sold in its base version for NIS 180,000 (272 hp, 344-km range).
In the importer’s November sale, it is offered for NIS 164,000—a 9% discount (NIS 16,000 off). The version with an extended-range battery (476 km) is discounted by 14% (NIS 35,000), bringing its price to NIS 175,000.
This comes alongside discounts on entirely new models ranging from 6,000 to NIS 75,000.
Chery: FX Electric from NI 129,000
The FX 0-Km electric crossover is now offered with a 23,000-shekel discount off the list price for a new model (originally NIS 152,000–174,000). The six trim levels are effectively priced at NIS 129,000–151,000. For truly new cars, the discount is only NIS 10,000.
The Arrizo 8 plug-in hybrid sedan (0-Km) is offered at a similar discount, priced at NIS 153,000–159,000. Cars with no prior ownership record receive a NIS 15,000 discount. Other new Chery models are offered with cash discounts ranging from NIS 2,000 to NIS 20,000.
EVEASY: From NIS 135,000
The Limo, a Chinese-made electric sedan imported by Frisbee (60-kWh battery, 450-km range), is priced at NIS 135,000—NIS 30,000 less than the importer’s original price for a new car, although the model has already been selling for NIS 151,000 in previous promotions.
Renault Austral: From 173,000 NIS
The large crossover, produced in South Korea and competing with the Tucson and Sportage (1.3-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, 158 hp), is offered with a NIS 22,000 discount off the new price, starting at NIS 173,000. Other Renault models with no previous ownership record receive a NIS 20,000 discount.
