At the Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference at the Zion Members Media Center, Mekorot CEO Amit Lang highlighted Israel’s leadership in water management and innovation. "Mekorot is considered the best water supply company in the world," Lang said, emphasizing "its excellent performance compared to any scale."

He noted Israel’s water loss rate, which stands at less than 4%, the lowest in the world, and the country’s ability to consolidate various water sources into a single system. "We use advanced command systems, sensors, and cutting-edge technology, including artificial intelligence for predictive maintenance," he explained. This proactive approach allows Mekorot to identify and address problems early, save costs, and prevent supply disruptions.

Lang also highlighted Mekorot’s growing international presence. "In Kazakhstan, we are carrying out a major project in Almaty, planning decades ahead to address the challenges of climate change," he said. In Azerbaijan, Mekorot oversees the construction of a desalination plant on the Caspian Sea.

"They highly value our knowledge, expertise, and experience," he emphasized. In addition, Mekorot invests in innovation, with around ten start-ups in its investment portfolio, including one that produces chlorine directly from water using an on-site machine - a technology now deployed in multiple locations and sold worldwide.

In Israel, Lang reassured citizens concerned about the water level in the Sea of Galilee: "We have a unique system that can supply water to the Sea of Galilee, thanks to our desalination plants operating at full capacity."
