After years of delays due to the pandemic and war, Terminal Park in Eilat opened. Starting September 11, visitors were able to enjoy a variety of free activities in the complex built on the grounds of Eilat’s old airport.

The park, built on the site of the airport that operated for 70 years and closed in 2019, Offers visitors juggling workshops, meditation and yoga for families, salsa dance events that turn into dance parties, an escape room, and a theatrical headphone tour with the Elad Theater. In addition, there are acrobatics shows, photography workshops, an artists’ fair, performances for the whole family, and movie screenings on a giant screen.

On September 21, the pop-up exhibition “Vertigo Lights” by artist Einat Steckler will open in the park. The space will be filled with a suspended art installation – a multi-sensory experience inspired by the world of aviation and travel. In a semi-dark space, thousands of colorful plastic bottles will hang from above, creating movement, light, and dazzling reflections. A special kaleidoscope will invite visitors to discover endless worlds of colors and shapes, like a flight into another realm.

Alongside the free activities, the park includes a bumper car zone and a unique extreme area that combines riding ATVs and motorized vehicles for ages four and up. These are the “first swallows” of additional attractions expected to open later on.

What’s to eat?

There are four food trucks operating in the park. The meat food truck will offer dishes such as hamburgers, brioche stuffed with asado, and tacos with pulled beef. The dairy food truck will serve pizzas, pastas, and pastries. A third food truck will specialize in hot, fresh corn, and of course, there will also be a sweet truck with crepes, Belgian waffles, and more.
